| Orders Fall
shipments of bareroot stock begin the third week of November. Spring shipments
begin when conditions permit in early March and continue through the middle of
April. Our blueberries and edible
ornamentals are available for spring shipment only.
To place an order just fill out the order form in the back of the catalog If
you live in the region and would like to pick up your order, please call ahead
so we can plan for your visit. We
are open to the public most Saturdays through the spring, and beginning the 2nd
week of November through Christmas. We
are closed on Sunday. Supplies
of many of our trees are very limited, so place your order early. Also, be sure to list variety substitutions.
This eliminates the need for further correspondence and prevents delays
in shipping. We will back order
shipments that cannot be filled. Back orders are sent the following fall season, or (with
edibles and blueberries) the following spring.
If size substitutions are necessary, we will either bill you or send a
refund. Credit if under five
dollars. We
send complete planting instructions with every order.
If a newly planted tree does not leaf out in the spring, let us know by
August 1st. We will replace an apple tree for $5.00 and a blueberry
or edible ornamental for $3.00, plus a shipping and packaging charge of $7.00. State Restrictions: No nut, plum or cherry to
Arizona. No nut, plum, cherry,
pawpaw or persimmon to California. No
plum to Washington State. Apple Tree Prices Husky 4-6' branched trees are $28.00 each #1 Grade 3-5' whips are $23.00 each Smaller 1-3' whips are $18.00 each Custom Grafts are
$32.50 each Our Nurseryman’s Dozen If
you are looking to get a small orchard established, the Nurseryman’s Dozen is
a good way to start. We’ve
selected thirteen of our top varieties that ripen from June to November. Yellow
Transparent ~ Carolina Red June ~ Lyman’s Large Summer Summer Rambo ~
Benham ~ Fameuse ~
Gr
Golden
~
Wolf River ~ Winesap ~ Virginia Beauty ~ York Imperial ~
Black Limbertwig ~ Arkansas Black These
apples can be used in many different ways: for cooking and drying, for sauce and
cider, for apple butter and vinegar, and for eating fresh or storing away.
Since this selection is harvested over an entire season, it helps to
buffer the October inundation that characterizes so many home orchards. Although
we graft these trees in quantity, we sometimes run short of certain varieties,
especially at the end of our Spring shipping season.
So when you order the Nurseryman’s Dozen, if you will indicate on your
order blank that we may substitute varieties at our discretion to fill the
order, we will add in two trees (our choice of variety) at no extra charge.
You save up to $55.00. Tree
sizes on the Nurseryman’s Dozen may not be mixed on ordering. Prices on the Nurseryman’s Dozen 13
